中国合成橡胶工业协会由国家民政部核准于1990年正式成立，是由中国合成橡胶、热塑性弹性体、合成胶乳、丁二烯/异戊二烯原料等生产企业及相关科研、设计、助剂、设备、应用、包装材料等企事业单位自愿结成的全国性、行业性、非营利性社会组织，具有社会团体法人资格的国家一级协会。China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association was formally established in 1990 with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. It is a national, industrial, and non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by Chinese enterprises engaged in the production of synthetic rubber, thermoplastic elastomers, synthetic latex, butadiene/isoprene raw materials, as well as related scientific research, design, additives, equipment, application, packaging materials and other enterprises and institutions. It is a national first-class association with the legal person qualification of a social group.
协会工作宗旨是服务全体会员，反映会员诉求，维护会员合法权益，为政府决策服务，推动我国合成橡胶及相关产业的健康、持续发展。The purpose of the Association's work is to serve all members, reflect the demands of members, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of members, serve government decision-making, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of China's synthetic rubber and related industries.
2017年12月，为协调和整合国内发展热塑性橡胶上下游资源，成立了中国合成橡胶工业协会热塑性弹性体分会。In December 2017, the Thermoplastic Elastomer Branch of the China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association was established to coordinate and integrate domestic upstream and downstream resources for the development of thermoplastic rubber.
2021年4月，为加强合成胶乳产业的有序管理，引导合成胶乳产业高质量发展，成立中国合成橡胶工业协会合成胶乳分会。In April 2021, to strengthen the orderly management of the synthetic latex industry and guide its high-quality development, the Synthetic Latex Branch of the China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association was established.
协会登记管理机关是中华人民共和国民政部，党建领导机关是国务院国有资产监督管理委员会党委。The registration authority of the association is the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and the party building leading authority is the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
